All this is rather meshuggeneh, as far as I am concerned.

The Yiddish word for crazy is meshuggah. Meshuggeneh is a noun meaning a crazy person.

I'm distressed by the misuse of the word 'chauvinism' in this thread. Chauvinism means extreme nationality. The term's 'sexism' or 'misogyny' are what you need.

I assume you mean "extreme nationalism." That's what "chauvinism" always meant until the 1970s, when terms like "male chauvinism" and "sexism" entered the language.

I've only ever heard chauvinism to refer to sexism, and never to refer to nationalism.
