Jericho- is it worth it?

Just picked up the 1st season for $5 on ebay. just got it on a whim. is it worth it? gonna start watching it tonite.

Yeah, the first half of season one isn't all that good (though there are some moments), while the second half is pretty good and ends fairly strong. The abbreviated season two was pretty damn good, on the other hand.

First half of the season is bad... second half is better, the ending is great, Season Two is the best.

I would agree with the above... Some episodes are a slog to get through, but overall I found the show quite entertaining.

I liked the show. I liked the Western elements with horses.
It felt realistic with the old 1980s cars running pre-computer chips after a EMP Like the 1983 TV movie 'The Day After'.

People killing each other over food in those conditions would be very realistic.
The Pilot was slow but give it a few episodes.
The Visual FX CGI work looks like TV movie of the week quality and you will groan but get past that.
Oh and the intro weekly title sequence was weak so skip to the start if the episode.
Great characters and character arcs in the story over the series.

For the record i did not like the 2-part finale.

I don't remember the last time I had such a reaction to a show as I did with that one that ended with the red pins. That it just continued about drove me nuts & I think I actually yelled at my tv, "Goddammit! STOP!"

I liked the show when I caught up with it on DVD. And when I can afford it, I'll be addin' the series set to my library.

It was overall a great series. It did start a little slow, but I thought most of them were pretty quality episodes. It really found its footing towards the end of the first season when the shit started hitting the fan. After getting canceled and then revived for a severely shortened second season (7 episodes) the writers knew they may not get another shot at actually finishing their story and kicked it into hyperdrive. The second to last episode in the first season and the entire second season is just incredible. It is most definitely worth it.

Same as everyone else.

Started a little slow, picked up nicely.

I enjoyed it.

It was mediocre. The premise was great, the execution soap opera-ish, and I don't mean that in a good way.

For five bucks it's absolutely worth it. As others have said, it starts out kind of slow, but really picks up in the back half. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

great show started season 2 on net flix (watch the whole 1st season already). good stuff. thanks for the feedback

well all done and I enjoyed it. but it sucks that they never finished it off. they left it open to your own opinion. what I don't understand is why did they need Hawkins bomb when the gov't (U.S.) had they NYC bomb.

overall I liked it and would enjoy visiting the world again

There is a Season Three comic book, written by the series writers, that continues the story. It's alright, gives a lot more answers about the conspiracy. I think six issues have been released so far, I dunno if there will be more.

It's been a while since I've seen those episodes (this thread has actually prompted me to start a series rewatch the other day), but from what I remember.... the guy who was in charge of the anti-terror unit that recovered the NY bomb was in on the conspiracy, so the evil ASA government is in possession of the NY bomb. Hawkins had the last undetonated bomb that wasn't in the terrorists' hands, and he was going to use it to convince Texas to join the war against the ASA.

Last I heard about the Jericho's future is that things are still being looked at. The movie isn't dead, but it's not moving at the moment. At this year's Comic Con, comments were made that CBS is watching the comic sales, which could move the movie project forward if they do well enough.

The conspiracy story never really added up, but those types of stories rarely do. Anyway that was the least interesting aspect of the show. If they'd simply left the nuclear attack unexplained, that would have been fine by me.
