Jeremiah: Where do we go from here?

For those who don't know, Jeremiah was a show created by the man who created Babylon 5. It takes in a world in which a plague occurred killing all adults around the world, leaving all the children and teenagers alone to run things. It's fifteen years later and the world is a chaotic mess. The main character, Jeremiah, is a wanderer who lost track of his parents fifteen years ago and has been looking for them and a place called Valhalla Sector which he hopes is where they went off to. Along the way, he makes friends with another wanderer named Kurdy and encounters the people of Thunder Mountain, which contains a military facility commanded by a man named Markus.

Season One dealt with Jeremiah's search for Valhalla Sector and the impending threat of those who come from there who turn out to be living adults from the time of the plague and they want to retake the world from Jeremiah and those like him so they can rule it with an iron fist. The season ends with the secret of the plague revealed, Jeremiah reuniting with his father, Kurdy too late to save Jeremiah, and Markus's second-in-command exposed as a traitor.

Season Two began with the downfall of Valhalla Sector and dealt with the rising of a new threat called Daniel, who's a charismatic militant leader with many armed forces under his command. A conflict develops between Daniel's forces and Thunder Mountain as Jeremiah learns to adjust to being the leader of a community and Kurdy gets partnered up with a guy who supposedly talks to God named Smith. Jeremiah falls for a woman who later turns out to be a spy working for Daniel. Smith is forced to kill her. By the end of the season, the truth of Daniel is exposed with its elder leaders being taken into custody, Jeremiah learns the truth about the woman he loves and takes it out on the man he believes corrupted her, Markus learns about the feelings of someone close to him, and most of Daniel's forces join the Thunder Mountain alliance.

Now, JMS says he had a five-year arc in mind for the series. How do you think would it have unfolded in the next three seasons? Would Markus and Erin have gotten together? What would have been Jeremiah's fate by the end of the series? Would things have taken a dark turn in Season 3 like in Babylon 5's Season 3?

I came across a comic about Jeremiah that took place after the Season Two finale and from what I could read, Jeremiah steps down as town leader and a new unknown threat that has been behind a series of strange disappearances happening on the Oregon coast begins to rise. How do you think things would have progressed from there?

My thinking is that the next season would be a consolidation after Daniel's forces join with the Thunder Mountain group. There are bound to be a number of people who liked the way things were under Daniel. From what you've said, I wouldn't be surprised if Erin goes off to find out what's going on in Oregon, possibly with Jeremiah? Wasn't Mr. Smith's prophecy that she'd leave the Mountain?

Somehow I don't think Markus and Erin would ever be a couple. It kinda bugged me, though, that all three main characters had their loves die. Hopefully they'd have each found somebody else.

I think that Mr. Smith and the special children would have somehow end up being important.

That's about as far as I've thought it out.

The Forces of Daniel called a ceasefire when the madman leading them was beaten. They didn't agree to go quietly in the night. I think they would have evolved somewhat in their patterns and returned as a threat.
