Jenny?

EJA

Fleet Captain
Does anyone think that Georgia Moffett will ever return as Jenny, the Doctor's daughter, in the series? Part of me would like to see her again, but at the same time, another part of me would like to keep up the mystery of what becomes of her.

Well apparently Moffat asked for her not to be killed off at the end of the Doctor's Daughter in case he wanted to utilise her.

the problem is she is now a regular in Casualty (a Doctor no less) so whilst the BBC could smooth things over to allow her to return she is going to be busy.

Georgia is also voicing the one-off companion for Tennant's upcoming animated story Dreamland.

I'm not too fussed if we don't meet Jenny again until Matt Smith is in the role - it'll allow her to get familiarised with the notion of regeneration (since whatever happened to her at the end of TDD wasn't, or wasn't a conventional one at the very least) and it saves the uncomfortable notion of watching Tennant play the Dad of the woman he's going out with IRL... ;)

I disliked the character, if she returns I hope that she's had a major character rewrite! Her development was too rushed (I guess that was part of the plot though!) and she just grated on me.

I think what happened with Jenny was very similar to the tenth Doctor regrowing his hand at the end of The Christmas Invasion; she was still within that bubble of time when the genetic matrix wasn't finalized, so her body could repair itself automatically.

I hope so, and I think its a shame it wont be with Tennant
Agreed. I really liked Jenny and would like to see her return at some point, but I think a reunion between her and the Doctor won't have the same impact without Tennant in the role of her "father".

Is he still dating her?

Is he still dating her?

I don't know. It doesn't bother me if he is or not in respect of her returning. I would like to see her with 11, though, because I'd like to see him playing a father to someone who looks his own age.

I think Jenny would make the perfect companion for the Doctor; he gets to have a daughter relationship... you get a semi-Time Lord companion... she's a warrior to constrast with the Doctor's pacifism... there's ZERO chance of yet another romantic entanglement... and you still satisfy the male demographic. :p

I liked Jenny a lot, and I thought her confrontation with the Doctor over him being a hypocrite was bang-on. I'd like to think we'll see her again, and I think there will be some humor to be had in the fact her dad now looks younger than she does.

If Moffat and his team can come up with a good story, I'm all for it. If they can't, I'd hope they'd indicate this so that the novels or comic strips can pick up the slack.

That's actually not how it went down-- the story is somewhat exaggerated. Davies was explaining his plans for the episode to Moffat and said something like, "Of course, she'll die at the end" to which Moffat said that he should let her live, 'cause no one would expect it.

Moffat was surprised when he saw Davies attribute the notion to him on Confidential, as he'd forgotten all about the conversation!

I like this. I vote they should do this. :techman:

I agree as well, the reason I loved Jenny was that she reminded me of Leela

^That's a great idea, too. If they could have Susan, I wonder what they would do with her - her age, attitude etc? It would be interesting to have a Susan whose appearance is older than the Doctor's, for instance.
