That probably explains why I was able to pick up my compy at Sam's Club for a bag of peanuts and a song.

It wasn't a bad card for gamers on a budget, just somewhat misleadingly named, and irksome to developers. Fortunately Nvidia have stopped doing that sort of thing, and their low-end cards of a given generation are now based upon the same architecture as the high-end cards.
