It's a social construct with no real genetic basis. Just merely pointing out general perceptions since I've lived on both continents. These perceptions change over time, for instance the Italians were not viewed as White just over one hundred years ago in America.

In Europe it's been more consistent, anyone of European ancestry has always been viewed as White.

Totally irrelevant since Spaniards are white, European and Caucasian by any historical or modern definition of the words you may want to use. Even the Nazis thought so. Why are we still discussing this?

Not all Europeans are Nazis. It's relevant because people will think of all sorts of reasons to hate and you don't need to be a Nazi to hate. So the Nazsi were cool with Fascist Spain. That doesn't change how they felt about Jews, Slavs and gypsies. The topic of Europeans finding reasons to disliking other Europeans isn't limited to Spain vs the rest of Europe.

I think I was misunderstood when I said Spanish people weren't European or weren't Caucasian. I said that they technically they were, and as @Captain of the USS Averof said as well, biology and history make that all very clear. I agreed with NCC-1967 in my post.

Sociopolitically speaking however, some people MIGHT have different views. That was all I was saying. So, for some people it might be nice that the new captain isn't your usual Brit or American but a Spaniard and would consider this better representation.

I also agree with @Captain of the USS Averof that this topic has indeed gone way overboard, partly due to my own involvement. For that, I apologize.

On the contrary, Tuvok was the most intriguing character in Voyager. A Vulcan captain would be pretty interesting.

Surely Isaacs is playing a Vulcan, with a starship that is some sort of hybrid of Klingon D7 technology? Perhaps on some sort of star trek or expedition for the Vulcans? Maybe find the Romulans?
