Japan uses exoskeletons to offset aging population

Now Cyberdyne... Why does that company name sound disturbingly familiar?

I would love it that exoskeletons be developed to the point of allowing old people to work, rather than sit around and do nothing.

What makes you think we need even more people in the workforce instead of letting them enjoy their retirement?

Do you want to increase youth unemployment by making old people work until they're dead?

dswynne1 said allowing old people to work not making them. It would be nice if they had the choice.

The "sit around and do nothing" part was what made his post seem a little condescending to me. ;)

An old person with an exoskeleton might actually be able to retire and DO THINGS.

The only reason old people sit around doing nothing is because their bodies hurt and they're tired. I bet they'd love to be active if they could.

No one wants to be a cyborg and keep a full time job, other than RoboCop but he's a hero.

No, they should be traveling the world, having adventures and solving mysteries.

Here is an English report on the HAL suit. I love the grad student hijinks at 2.30.

Now just think of trying to work with an older person with dementia who is wearing an exo-suit.
