Yeah, I say good riddance. The idea of a yeoman doing that type of demeaning job in the future where robots are seen doing similar jobs (as a female character), is very derogatory. She needed to go.

I always thought it was funny that in "The Corbomite Maneuver," Kirk complains about the person at Headquarters who sent him a female yeoman, but even after Janice leaves the show, every single one of Kirk's Yeomen of the Week are women....

I never liked her character. Particularly, her looks. It isn't the only thing, but her ridiculous hairstyle made it difficult for me to focus on other things. It's like the character of Kate in the current BBC Robin Hood S3.

Nay with her. Nothing personal of course...but the show is not about their romances (thank god...we've enough of that in plenty of other tv etc...)....if it were I'm not sure how much of a fan I would of been with sappy scenes throughout.

Hmm...but then we'd miss out on Yeoman Ross and Yeoman Barrows...can I change my vote?

Now there's a thought...if Barrows was a direct swap for Rand, was Janice supposed to end up in a relationship with Bones?

Having one more character would have been no problem at all, I would have liked her to stay. She always feels a bit like the forgotten character of TOS to me.

I voted stay for the "one more character" reasons listed above. Even though she vamoosed (or was forced to vamoose) after a few episodes, she still forms part of the original series and it's kind of hard to imagine it without her.
