Janeway's Decision to Kill Tuvix

At the same time, debates that go on indefinitely, in which neither sides ever reach some sort of agreement, or even a compromise, just seem... illogical.

What compromise could you actually come too? I'd say the best solution would've been to shoot Tuvix out a torpedo tube as he was creepy and Neelix was annoying...

To the folks that want the thread to die, nobody's making you read it, and making posts about wanting the thread to die seems contrary to your alleged goal.

No one wants this thread to die. Some would just like it to reach a satisfying conclusion in which people in A corner support the death of one person and people in B corner support the death of two people and everyone agrees to disagree. But really for a lot of folk it's not about that at all, it's about weirdass Trek science and creepyass aliens and all the unspoken realities of smushing two people together into one.

There, I've explained it to you all.

I think people just need a hug. Tuvix agrees.

For saying THIS to Janeway he deserves to die:

TUVIX: Captain, has anyone ever told you that you are as fair-minded as you are lovely?

What a creep. You don't talk to the Captain like that.

JANEWAY: As a matter of fact, Neelix has told me that occasionally. And if you really do possess his memories, you'd know that flattery will get you nowhere.

She is unimpressed.. but presumably made allowances for Neelix since he's not starfleet and not going to grasp the ships social etiquette. But Tuvok is in there! So Tuvix gets no free pass.

No he wouldn't because Neelix was in Love with Kathryn and he was doing his best to hide it.

Neelix says stuff in Deathwish and Ethan backs it up in an interview.

But the kitchenrat beleives that he is not good enough for her so there's no need to get rejected and then be asked to leave the ship because he's making her uncomfortable.

Neelix is twofaced a liar enough to hold all this in as secret.

It's the Tuvok half that wants to be honest and exploding the world around him.
