News JANEWAY RETURNS! Star Trek: Prodigy

This was surprising. I was lukewarm on this project, probably going to pass, but this piqued the interest level. Captain Janeway in animated form. Not sure how this is going to play out but hopefully it's fascinating... :vulcan:

Definitely don't mind seeing Janeway back in a captain's chair.

Why assume she's the captain this time?

The ship in question is crewed by a bunch of teens. However I can see Janeway as some kind of holographic A.I., like Rommie from Andromeda...

Because Nickelodeon said so:

We may be dealing with a kid's version of Picard (retired, bored Admiral Janeway wants to go back into space).

People like Janeway aren't going to be happy being desk jockeys at SFHQ. She wouldn't have been able to do the things she's done if she didn't have the lust to explore.

It's not going to be Paw Patrol or PJ Masks -- not with Janeway involved.

Unless Janeway has suffered some kind of personal tragedy, like Picard did, I don't see her needing to use a broken down "derelict" spaceship (which is exactly what Prodigy is) to get into space.

WIth her clout, she could probably hitch a ride on any ship she wanted.

I'm still leaning towards the A.I. idea. I mean, who else is going to teach those young punks how to even operate a starship, let alone live up to Federation ideals?

I doubt it'll be EXACTLY like Picard.

The plot thread I mentioned above could work for both shows.

"Why restore a rusting, `67 Corvette? Just go out and buy a new one!"

Why do people restore old cars? People like challenges. They WANT to be challenged (being a Starship Captain is FAR more challenging than being a pencil-pushing bureaucrat).

Like it or not, that's what's in front of her.

We actually have no idea if Janeway IS a "pencil pushing bureaucrat". She could have a fleet command for all we know.

A lot of fans consider her a F%$k-up (How many chances did Voyager have to get home? She let her crew languish for seven years!)

This is her chance to exorcise some demons left over from Voyager.

Great news, I hope she’s actually the Starfleet person tasked in recovering the ship from the kids!

Any official news on when does the series take place? With this news I guess it’s set around the same time of Lower Decks...
