As I've posted before I don't want her back as a Q, I want her as a real flesh and blood coffee drinking woman. There are enough super beings in Trek Land and they're all a tad dull IMHO compared to real people. Ideally I'd like her back changed.. by the trauma of everything that has happened to her, though Treklit isn't too great at that kind of character arc. If she and Chak must be torn apart
let it be because assimilation and death mess with your head, LOL.
I just want to see her returned and staying returned, no return just to sacrifice herself crap. I don't care if she's an admiral, a civilian, with Chak, without Chak, the main character of every VOY book to come or lost in some dusty ambassador post. Just be alive.

If Beyer brings back a hale and hearty Kathryn Janeway, then TEACAKE is honor bound to have her child.

All unknown books are judged by their covers, it's what makes you pick it up in the first place. Books are supposed to be judged by their covers, that's why publishers pay marketing departments.

Anyway, it wasn't just the cover, there was also the little blurb about a respected officer returning at ST.com.... (and besides it would be kind of goofy to put a character that was supposed to be done & gone, even if she's a "ghost," on the cover of a new book; strange IMHO even for Trek lit).

It's not that I just I judge this by it's cover, since I can't see the cover any more through all the dumps disgruntled bbs board members have already taken on it. My impression of it is coloured and flavoured which is brown and hardly chocolate.

Now Before Dishonor, that book is definitely thick with brown, but that's not the book we're talking about.

There is too much green in this cover, it looks like it's under water. Not the best of covers IMO, but hopefully what we see is what it is all about!

I honestly like the cover, the whole murky style looks nice to me, and it's got more...I don't know, spunk than some of the others have. And Janeway's face just looming on the cover there is great.
