Janeway in 1990's television. Outstanding, or just one of the crowd?

Re: Janeway in 1990's television. Outstanding, or just one of the crow

No?

Okay.

So, Renee has seen the way Kate and Lucy have been looking at each other during their weekly poker games, and she sees the writing on the wall. She KIDNAPS Kate and "threatens" her to stay away from Lucy "or else".

Lucy goes to the police to report 2 missing loves and teams up with Officer Mariska to search for Kate and Renee, never suspecting they aren't both victims.

Meanwhile, back at the kidnapper's lair, Kate is busy rescuing herself as she lets her voice lull Renee into a state of confusion as she claims her interests were NEVER for Lucy but rather for Renee herself.

Renee is now very confused... does she want Xena, Warrior Princess or Janeway, Captain of the Voyager? She's wise enough to realize that these two women do NOT believe in "sharing".

Just as she's about to give in to her deepest heart's desires.... Lucy and Mariska come bursting through the doors. As Mariska cuffs Renee's hands behind her back, the last thing Renee sees is Lucy comforting a seemingly distraught Kate.

Back in the holding cell of the NYC precinct, Renee is despondent over the turn her life has taken. A softly accented voice asks her if she'd like a cup of coffee, and Renee lifts up her eyes to see a brown haired vision with the lyrical voice on the other side of the bars. When she nods, a hand passes through the bars with the cup, and Renee grasps it gratefully, thanking Sister Reba for her kindness, and wishes her "friends' were as supportive as this stranger. Sister Reba, who's mission is ministering to the incarcerated, assures Renee that she will not desert her in her time of need.

My, that's an interesting interplay of actor and characters...

I'm saying I was talking about snarky women not being strong women, period. I'm saying I was specifically referring to reality tv.

Yeah, sure, strong women can be snarky, but that's not what we were talking about.

Well, you've elected to discount a good portion of "reality tv" as "not reality tv" so I don't really know much about that.

You're saying strong women can be snarky (and vice versa), but not on reality tv - which apparently plays by its own rules? What I was objecting to was your statement indicating a distinction between snarkiness and strength, not realizing you meant only in the field of reality tv.

In other words, it doesn't matter that Xena started with very little subtext. What matters is that there was, in fact, a lot of it throughout the series, which is what we were talking about.

I get the feeling I've stepped into something you care a lot more about than I do, so... okay.
