Oh I believe it as well as believe women can lead just as well (if not sometimes better) than men can. Unfortunately, that's not the opinion of everyone on the board...
I like to think I would be able to wait but then I like to think I would be able to do a lot of things. The truth is we can't actually know what we would do until put to the test. Who knows? If it were to happen to both of us you may be the one waiting while I don't.
Sounds like a fascinating personality. I'll have to read up some more on her.
I was thinking about Odysseus and Penelope. Remember, Odysseus was charmed on the island of the witches who turned his crew into animals. He slept with one, and rationalized it, saying something to the effect of "We're men and we can't control it all the time." Whereas Penelope was to remain chaste (and chased) for 20 years.
Reverse the sexes; yet Janeway was chaste, responding to Q's "It's been a while, Kathy" with "And it'll be a while more." So while playing Odysseus, she was still playing Penelope too, if one wanted to see it that way.
From an evolutionary psychology standpoint, she's not the promiscuous type.
I saw more of a role reversal with Chakotay, who took on the softer side, the natural side, the qualitative humane side to Janeway's tough leadership. But I wouldn't go so far to say it was a complete reversal. She was still feminine, and he was still manly, on those unfortunately infrequent occasions when they needed to be.

Caretaker was Obviously Neptune who was pissed off if I recall form being backhanded over some slight during the Trojan war when he busted some walls down. Does that make Tuvok Helen? I you consider Chhakotay might have been Paris stealing her/him? Although I think Paris is more like Paris. The Judgment of Paris was meant to determine the important qualities of femininity, either intelligence, beauty or warrior guile... (They bribed him with wealth, glory and love, lets not even bring Discordia into this?.) but he got B'Elanna by way of Chakotay so what does that mean?
But the men greasing up to Penny weren't so much interested in taking Penelope to bed. Odysseus himself was a king with monies and land which Penelope was in care of. As a person the suitors probably didn't care a lick about her when in stead they could assimilate HIS Portfolio with HER hand in marriage... Did Marc/Mark (I must look that up.) get all Janeway's crap? And who would have married him just to get her kick-naks and tennis trophies? In a society without money, does any one really own anything?
