Janeway Died? In Which Book?

Apparently unsatisfied with the response he received here, Lynx has decided to repost his entire rant in the Books & Products forum at StarTrek.com.

The first response to his post sums up the situation far better (and much more succinctly) than anything anyone here has said… :guffaw:

The WAAAAAAMBULANCE was even funnier:guffaw:. And when Therin said

"What's really funny to me is that Lynx, due to his ban on post-"Fury" episodes, barely knows Seven of Nine, and probably considers Seven a "replacement" character. ;)

...I almost shit myself. If Lynx is only a fan of the first 3 seasons of Voyager, he has absolutely no business calling himself a Voyager fan. He hasn't even watched it since 1997:wtf:! I didn't think it was even possible for me to take him less seriously. Live and learn I guess...

Just for your information:

I watched seasons 1-3 of Voyager some months ago since I have the DVD:s. During the last years, I've actually re-watched the episodes a couple of times. So stating that I haven't watched the show since 1997 is definitely wrong.

I've re-read some of the books several times, most notably "The Black Shore" by Greg Cox, "Marooned" by Christie Golden, "Her Klingon Soul" by Michael Jan Friedman and "Caretaker" by LA Graf.

I'm maintaining a website about Kes where there's a lot of information, not only about Kes but about other aspects of Voyager as well, such as episode reviews, book reviews, maps, and a timeline.

So I do think I can call myself a fan of the show.

A Fanatic yes. Maybe not a fan though!

So have you watched anything past The Gift as if not, you still havn't watched Voyager since, oh, 1997 regardless whether or not you own the DVDs!

Yeah, I think I might be done. You know what though, Thrawn - I have really enjoyed reading your posts in this (increasingly nonsensical) thread. You make a lot of great points and seem like a cool person. I guess something good has come out of this mess after all. :)

Thank you, I appreciate that.

That thread is hilarious, I would've missed it!

Though I for one want to know more about this Ensign Jimmy. There should be an Ensign Jimmy! Is he hot? Hair colour? How much can he bench press??? I need to know!

Just for your information:

I have watched the episodes between "The Gift" and "Fury" once.

I did quit watching Voyager for two years after "The Gift" but decided to give it another chance so I started to borrow tapes with those episodes until I caught up with what was going on on TV.

The "reward" for that was "Fury". Then I definitely did quit. Only watched "Endgame" after that.

I don't have those episodes on DVD and have no intention to buy them.

However, I have all seasons of TNG on DVD.

Yes we know as you have abudently made clear only Who knows how many times as well as the fact that you were giving up Trek which you have stated probably more times then that but are probably lieing through your teeth about and in between that insulting the writers, acting like Rodenberry apeared to you and declared you god of Trek, and getting pissy that other posters

1) Aren't outraged by Janeway's death

2) DON'T think you're the appointed god of Trek

3) Are more that a little anooyed that you constinly insult the authors and act like its no big deal.

Feel free. The rest of us will be calling you...other things...

Though I for one want to know more about this Ensign Jimmy. There should be an Ensign Jimmy! Is he hot? Hair colour? How much can he bench press??? I need to know!

Well, I'm going to start a website about Ensign Jimmy where there's a lot of information, not only about Ensign Jimmy but about other aspects of Voyager as well, such as episode reviews, book reviews, maps, and a timeline.

...What?

(If anybody thinks I'm taking this thread somewhat less than seriously, I gotta fess up: I don't see any other way to take it at this point! I keep trying to leave, but it's just too damned entertaining....)

I say we make it more entertaining... when you build that site... I'll help you find pictures of "Ensign Jimmy"...

And maybe some of Doctor X too, please?

Ok, I love how Lynx posts on the other site, probably looking for sympathy but all he's getting is pretty much the same reactions... from the same people. That is some seriously funny shit. Oh, and... there was something else I wanted to say earlier in the thread, but now I forgot what it was.

EDIT: Remembered now, am I the only one who is annoyed by the fact that any time we fans stick up for the writers and editors people start accusing us of "worshipping them" and attacking other people who don't.

Captain Data is cheating on Janeway with ensign Jimmie

But... but... how dare she steal him!!

am I the only one who is annoyed by the fact that any time we fans stick up for the writers and editors people start accusing us of "worshipping them" and attacking other people who don't.

Yes, you are. Because I've totally given up on those terrible Trek books that cost the lives of so many trees (and somehow immortal characters too!). I've started collecting the authors of those books instead. If you haven't seen some around in a while... they're probably in my basement... awaiting transport.

Yeah, that drives me insane. How bizarrely wrong about humanity do you have to be to think that people would willingly read stories that they dislike in universes they don't enjoy because they love writers that only write those stories? (Lynx's "I see now you are just fans of the writers, not fans of the universe or the characters" comment.) Why, yes - I'm reading about people I despise going through a plot I don't enjoy, but FUCK, those ADVERBS are something special!

It just boggles the mind.
