Many Trek fans consider "Threshold" the "Spocks Brain" of Voyager, one does wonder whatever happened to their "Kids", did they wind up in the same place as the Borg Baby

^They left behind those lizard babies on the planet. They did comment on it at the end. They probably just lived out their lives like any lizard you would find in the swamps here on Earth.

I would just like to know what strange drugs the writers were smoking with some of those 1st and 2nd season episodes like Threshhold, really what were they thinking?

The speculative premise behind "Threshold" is devolution, as opposed to evolution; which isn't a bad premise to follow. It just took a turn for the lurid right at the end there; other than that, the episode was a good vehicle for Robbie. It was all him in sickbay. Paris fans got to see a lot of him that episode.
