Kind of like how Canadian actors always used to pop up on 24 despite it being shot in L.A. (Not counting Kiefer. I don't think it was his doing.)

I read somewhere that he did make sure to cast Canadian actors on 24.

The NFL tried to control who could make tweets about games. They absolutely control use of actual footage. They keep a tighter rein on it than the music industry.

Which kind of goes back to my comment about people not being able to tell the difference. To most people, what they'll just see is more football and won't think twice about it. So, if the rights to it are cheaper, maybe they did use it this way. It's football, what's the difference? (Bigger field, but shhhh!)
