James Horner, Film Composer for 'Star Trek' Dies in Plane Crash

Damn. I was hoping the reports were wrong. I love his body of work, with Apollo 13 and Casper being my favorite soundtracks. May he rest in peace. :(
 
What is it with planes and musicians? It's like a freaking jinx. If anyone starts to have any sort of musical success, for their own sakes they should learn to start loving boats. Flying vehicles are out to get them,

Only 61 too. And it's so sad for his family and friends who would have been clinging to that tiny chance of a miracle.
 
This is very sad, in a lot of ways he's the man who's composed much of the soundtrack of my life: Wrath of Khan, Commando, Aliens, Titanic (and many others).

RIP, your music lives on :(
 
A sad day indeed. My condolences to his family.

A couple of articles didn't mention Star Trek, and the one from Hollywood Reporter (linked above) say he worked on 2 Trek movies AND classics, such as . . .
