Umm...that could have been said of "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" as well or anything else that gets turned into a tv show. People are interested and studio execs think people will watch it.

I haven't seen that movie for 16 years. Not only did I find the "kidnap and mentally torture your wife" subplot despicable, it was excruciatingly boring. If I had the patience to watch it again, it would only be to evaluate if you could get a halfway decent film by excising the offending sequence. I assume that a TV show would be a reboot rather than a continuation -- that might only serve to insult the viewer over several hours rather than 30 minutes or so.
^ I can't imagine it will be a sequel. I would have thought it'll be an action comedy in similar vein, about a married couple who juggle everyday with life with their alter-ego lives as all-action spies. They may or may not retain the names of the Arnie and Jamie Lee characters but it's unlikely that it's meant to be the same people 16 years later.
And were people really clamoring to see Jamie Lee Curtis do a striptease?
