James Bond franchise--the return of SPECTRE and Blofeld?

Yikes. I loved Skyfall. First Bond film in a long time that felt amazingly authentic, AND nailed the visuals, the humor, and the villain.

I also loved Adele's theme, the best since "GoldenEye" by THE Tina Turner.

Skyfall was almost great, but sloppy writing let it down. I can't remember exactly where apart from the end where M was spotted due to the gamekeeper, a canny old sort, waving a torch around on the moor as they escaped. Ridiculous.

I didn't like Javier Bardem or his character much either.

As to 'THE' Tina Turner, I don't like her or her song much. The trouble with Goldeneye and Skyfall is that they both want to be Goldfinger. Skyfall pretty much IS ! Both perfectly servicable though...

The Bond film I've LOVED recently was Casino Royale. Pretty much perfect in my book !

Chuckle. It's good to know you are my mirror universe counterpart.

I do have a sinister beard...

You are blessed.

So the title track will be "Writings on the Wall" sung and co-written by Sam Smith.

First male British solo artist to do a title track since Tom Jones!

Never heard of this singer.

Keep it that way. I don't know who is worse, Sam Smith or Macklemore.

Oh dear, another singer i know nothing about.

In my defence i ditched watching live TV about two years ago, now if it's not streamed i don't watch it, on the plus side the dire state of UK tv no longer affects me, on the negative side, i am somewhat out of date with what TV is pushing, but it seems from the replies i made the right choice.

They're really pushing that skull mask.

Also, new TV-Spot.

They need to dial it back on the skull mask. It's almost too intrusive in those designs. Sheesh. Who approved that? It's like Skeletor is photobombing Bond...featuring Butt Pose(tm) from the girl.

I had a pretty exciting Bond related weekend down at Pinewood studios this Sunday just gone. My Youtube video talking about the For Our Eyes Only event and meeting THE SURPRISE GUEST:

And my pictures:

It was nice to see THE SURPRISE GUEST was so amazed about meeting me, he's done nothing but go on every single TV and radio show he can to talk about it all week.

That basically gives it away really doesn't it?

Sir Rog is exactly the sort of man you'd want him to be.

Smiths awful. It is like a midrange Eurovision entry with whiny vocals. It's rescued only by a very traditional John Barryesque orchestration.

There seems to be a level of utterly unwarranted hype about Smith. We can but hope he will cease being flavour of the month soon...

I prefer Skyfall over that what has been done for Spectre and I wasn't a fan of the Skyfall theme.

I forgot about Die Another Day. I think it was worse than this but at least it had a certain catchiness (in the same way one catches crabs). This is just vapid.

Corporal Clegg, I don't hate the A-ha one, I just think it's a little bland. There's just been (IMHO) a good run of themes since then until now, apart from the Madonna effort. Of course, the fact that I like the theme to Quantum of Solace puts me in a minority.

Pretenders song? What was that? Not a theme song, that I remember anyway.

Propably this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKiCV6CG4Sc

The Pretenders actually did two songs that were used in "The Living Daylights", (the other being "If there was a Man") but obviously neither was the theme song.

Ah thanks. Haven't seen TLD in a long time.

I think Chrissie Hynde is a bit of a f*ckwit but I'd say she'd do a good Bond theme.

This is the first time i have heard this singer sing, and after hearing the song it will be the last time. lol

I think his voice is okay but it's quite telling that his most famous song led to him being sued by Tom Petty and this one is being compared to Jacko's Earth Song.
