"James Bond 23" officially slated for 2012!

Bond 23 may still be a ways off, but at least you can see Craig as Bond in this video (warning, he also wears a dress) Enjoy:

I posted that video here awhile ago. A lot of people were complaining and thought it was inappropriate. I don't know, I thought it was kind of weird but Dench's narration was more hard hitting.

I've been out of the loop for a while :)

You're right though, Dench's narration is pretty hard hitting.

Frankly, It's a wonder Bond doesn't answer M's question in the clip with a dry, "No, ma'am--you're my boss. :vulcan:"

But then, it's a commercial with a specific point--and I'm not bashing the point at all--I understand it entirely. I'm just saying...had it been one of the movies, Bond probably would have answered it that way.

I'd love to see Colin Firth in a Bond film in any role. I agree he'd be great as M though.
Before Craig was cast I suggest Firth for Bond himself. I forget who, but several people said I was crazy. I still stand by that. Hey might not be the much uber action star, but dollars to donuts he could do "spy" better than the whole lot--including Connery. Plus I just really like him and always have.

Actually, if they're going to plop him someplace, why not Tanner? I've always said he needed to be involved in the films more. The 4(?) to date have been rather underwhelming.

And Bettany still has my #1 for Q.

I'm now imagining the classic Connery/Shaw fight on the train reimagined with Firth as Bond and Hugh Grant as Red Grant!

I do honestly think Firth could have been a good Bond...

I could see a younger Firth as Bond (we'll have to settle for him as Bill Haydon in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy this year).

The latest casting news/spec is that British actress Naomie Harris (Tia Dalma from the first two Pirates of the Caribbean sequels), who has been rumoured for a while to be joining the cast, will be playing Miss Moneypenny, not a Bond girl as was originally believed.

Daniel Craig has said for a while that he wants the next film to bring back Moneypenny and Q, so I'm glad if the series is reintegrating more of its staple players. If that's what they're doing, I wonder if they'll be more involved in the story than was normally the case (the exception for Q being License to Kill).

Interesting choice for Moneypenny. It makes me wonder if...

Q will be South Asian.
Probably not, though.

but since when are we starting to take IMDB's word for things?
I wasn't; I read this on DarkHorizons, which got it (as did everyone else) from the Daily Mail. As I said in the original post, it's "news/spec" for the moment, but given that she's previously given interviews about auditioning, there's a bit more foundation to this one than most.
