James Blish

Hello all. This is my first post at this forum. I'm 42 years old and have been a Star Trek fan as long as I can remember.

I've been re-reading my Star Trek 1 through 12 books lately, which I started buying with my allowance money in '74 or '75 - back when Star Trek reruns were on five nights a week on our black & white TV set.

I read these books again every five or ten years or so, I'd guess, and it always bugged me that I had never found Star Trek 9 to complete the set.

Yesterday in a used book store, I found a clean copy of Star Trek 9 from the mid '70s - it matches my other Blish books 1 - 12 and Spock Must Die. I read two episodes last night and felt like a kid again with a "new" James Blish book. What a bargain for two dollars!

I always liked used book stores but haven't gone to any in a few years, now that I think about it. I've been to two large ones this week and they both have lots of Star Trek paperbacks from the '70s and '80s - my preferred era as I never got into The Next Generation and subsequent ST series.

I think I'm about to become a regular customer of these stores. Both had many James Blish "Star Trek #" books so if you need to finish your collection, check out your local used book store(s).
