Jackie Lane

Mike Tucker’s BBC books, set before the NAs, used the Gale surname because he had forgotten that the NAs established McShane. Then he covered it by, as you say, killing off the TV/BBC Books Ace in Loving the Alien and replacing her with a parallel counterpart surnamed McShane. On the other hand, Mark Michalowski’s BBC novel Relative Dementias just called her Dorothy Gale McShane, and a few months later one of the BF audios did the same.

Ah, never read that book. Was supposed to review it but asked to skip it for family reasons (grandma who suffered from it in her last years).

O
Sad news as we lose another sixties companion.

Fantom Films announced today.

"It is with deep regret that we announce that actress and friend Jackie Lane has sadly passed away. We pass on our sympathies to her family and friends.
Jackie was best known to Doctor Who fans as companion Dodo Chaplet.
RIP 1941 - 2021"

Spoke to her once; she rang me up to say that I should ring Tom's literary agent (number given), not her.
