I'm curious if the cat pays more attention to scenes on the bridge. Some of the pings and whistles kind of sound like birds, crickets, etc. (In fact, the phaser whine is based on the sound of thousands of locusts chirping, as I recall.)

I never noticed such a thing but it's quite possible. TOS-R records overnight tonight. I'll watch it with Jack tomorrow and see when he reacts to certain things.

My cats sit and stare at things as innocuous as Bob Ross painting shows. I've caught one staring almost unblinkingly as Bob paints a snow scene or something that's bright to the eyes.

Never watched or tested their responses to TOS tunes...but I know one mellowed out and meowed at "Ilia's Theme" from TMP.

Well, Jack STARTED watching "Court Martial" with me and seemed to look up when the bumper shot of the 1701 firing a torpedo made it's distinctive sound...but otherwise he was a sleepy kitty and curled up for dreamland after the first break.

Not a fan of the Cogley, he.

I once saw "The Alternative Factor" drive a cat to commit suicide by jumping into a pen full of pit bulls.
