Jack Reacher (Amazon) Appreciation thread

Season 2 was fun in an 80s Schwarzenegger and Stallone kind of way with all the killing without conseuence and plot armor, but the writing was a massive step down from season 1. Meanwhile, A.M. was a complete waste of time and actor. Also, Alan Ritchson cannot run well with all that extra bulk.

seem to leave it dangling not going after the buyer of little wing or was senator Lavon ultimately behind it?

have never read any of the books (though my mum has and likes them - she even liked the Jack Reacher movie with Tom Cruise) but saw a comment that book this series was based on isn’t that good so perhaps they were hampered a bit by the source.

Then again they could add stuff when it suited ( the lt. Colonel, Findlay’s appearance).

Since Amazon owns Harry Bosch, Jack Reacher, Jack Ryan, James Reece and Alex Cross, could they all crossover as part of the Amazon Novelverse?

Those of you who have read Persuader may recall that there is a character called Paulie who is even bigger than Reacher. Well, big as Alan is, there’s always a bigger fish, as the not-exactly-small-himself Qui-Gon Jinn once said, and actor Oliver Richter has been cast in that role, according to Anthony Michael Hall, also set to play a major role in S3:

Woah! That guy is massive! He makes even Hafþór Björnsson look small when next to him. Definitely will be fun to see him against Alan in season 3.

‘Reacher’ Spinoff Starring Maria Sten As Neagley Gets Amazon Series Order

Love Neagley but things like this always worry me that they'll spread the concept and/or character too thin. I'll be happy to be proven wrong.
The plot sounds ridiculously similar to S2 of Reacher. Personally, I found that season to be a complete letdown, as the writers moved totally away from Child’s book as the story progressed. I don’t have a lot of faith in their writing a totally new storyline without even the basics the book to star from.

Honestly, it makes a lot of sense.

The problems with season two weren't with departures from the book as such - problems of quality almost never are. It's not as if season one of the show was faithful to anything other than the bones of the book's plot - the characters were completely reinvented for the series, and much for the better.

The main flaw in season two of Reacher was that the producers wanted it to be a big, loud action piece with impossible fights and something going blowy-uppy once or twice in an episode. "Welcome to Margrave" had a great deal more character focus.
