https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-new...hanna-has-dementia-steps-away-public-n1263388 He wad diagnosed with dementia, now believed to be Alzheimers. Grew up watching him on TV, so this hits hard.
I wonder if they'll attempt to continue his shows in some capacity. His POV regarding engaging his audience has merit, and is similar to the POV of the Irwin family in Australia. Get the public to see animals as a positive part of their world, and they'll be much more interested in conservation efforts. Also, I first became aware of Jack Hanna when he started appearing on Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, with Marlin Perkins. That article left that part out, though I can see why they might do that. He's withdrawing from public appearances. Mentioning his entire career sounds too much like an obituary, for which, unfortunately, there will be ample time for soon enough.
