Yep, the 'old Spock talks about his past' theory is officially busted.

He's a'goin back in time.

I'm so excited about that actually. I know some really didn't want this to be a time travel movie, but I think time travel can be really well done if the script is good. Time travel after all gave us two of the more popular Trek movies, Voyage Home and First Contact, so I'm hopeful it'll do the same again. Seeing Quinto and Nimoy together will be so much fun!

I also think it's neat that we learned the final scene in the movie will take place on the bridge of the Enterprise. I couldn't imagine a more fitting place to end the movie then where the rest of the Enterprise's adventures begin.

Not necessarily. It depends on the way you portray it. He could narrate the story and still be in some shots with Quinto. It'd be metaphorical and more like they'd do it in a play. Does anyone remember the film "Under Suspicion" with Gene Hackman? I think they used this device, too. I know it's not very likely that this will be the case with Spock. But it's still a possibility that he's just talking about the past.

^Or that Nimoy just happened to be hanging out on the set, not necessarily that he and Quinto had the same scene together? I still think time travel is going to be our most likely candidate though.
