Super 8.and perhaps for the first time in his life, J.J. Abrams is making a film that isn't connected to any series.
Are we talking just as a director? Because he's produced a quite a few movies completely original movies.
Another movie I'll watch just because of the cast. The plot looks good too. But it's still a J.J. Abrams film, and perhaps for the first time in his life, J.J. Abrams is making a film that isn't connected to any series.
yes.Are we talking just as a director? Because he's produced a quite a few movies completely original movies.
Paramount reportedly has a blacklist of actors they would never work with, including those known to be anti-Trump and pro-Palestinian. For example, Mark Ruffalo is both a Democrat and a supporter of Palestine, Javier Bardem is a supporter of Palestine, and Jenna Ortega's political affiliation is unclear (she probably doesn't vote for any party) but she is also a supporter of Palestine. I wonder what would happen to a potential sequel if Paramount intervened in this Netflix and Warner Bros. acquisition and forced Warner Bros. to buy it. Although, they'd probably just make one film like Super 8 and leave it at that.Wut?
I don't want to start a political debate. It's just something that 'caused me to think about.' Anyway, it's best if we drop the subject.I don't understand what Paramount's hypothetical blacklist has to do with a Warner Bros movie which Paramount has no involvement in whatsoever. To say nothing of the fact we have no idea if this movie is getting a sequel or if it's even meant to launch a sequel, or if there is one, whether Ortega would even be due to return anyway (her character could easily just be intended to just be in the first one)
You're posting a lot of hypotheticals of a rather flawed and irrelevant premise. Aside from stirring up a political discussion, I'm not sure what the point is you're trying to make.
Judging by Jenna Ortega's box office flops, she may not have reached 'that' point yet.If Ortega get butts in seats, views on screens and money in the till, I doubt any studio will care about her political stances.
