I've just been accepted into College. Life is good.

Way back in September I took stock of my life. Didn't like where it was headed, so I altered my path. Moved back in with my folks, transferred jobs, and applied to College.

Right when I moved back, the new locale was a breath of fresh air, and being able to hang out with old friends was good. But the store I transferred into was less generous with hours, and the application process was taking a little longer than I anticipated (though I should have gotten started sooner, that one was on me). So needless to say I was feeling a bit discouraged.

Well, I just got a call today validating my new path. Sure I spoiled it already in the subject header, but to reiterate, I got accepted into Eastern Washington University. I applied for the fall quarter, to make sure I had enough time once I found out I was accepted to meet with counselors and such to take the proper courses so I can reach my goal.

But for the time being I'm just happy that things are starting to look up.

Congrats, Aldo! My kids went to summer camp at EWU for years. It's a lovely campus. :)

Congrats. Good luck with your college career.

I just got into graduate school myself

Congrats and Good Luck. Is this Graduate school and what kind of degree are you looking for, if I may ask?

In the UK 'college' is something different from university. If you get accepted for university you would never ever say you had been accepted for college because college is where all the people go who didn't get into a university.

I'm going back so I can get a teaching degree and teach. My aim is to teach 4th or fifth graders. It's something I've ben wanting to do for a very long time now, I just finally kicked my ass into gear and decided to make that a possibility.

Well done.

Excuse me? I went to College and then went onto University thank you very much.

Me too. Because I couldn't get into University without going to college first.

So you did College instead of Sixth Form then because you could have got in via that route. That's normally the way things are done in the UK.

I personally did my GCSE's at 16, did lower Sixth Form or AS level as they were introduced as that year and then did transferred to College after and then University after that.

The way you phrased it earlier, it's either/or College/University here which to be honest, isn't the case at all.
