iTunes trying to locate music?

Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue between my iTunes and my computer. I've recently added music to iTunes on a new-to-me computer from my external harddrive. I have authorized this new computer to access my iTunes.

However, whenever I go to play a song, iTunes can't locate it so I have to manually locate it (go to the place where that particular song is stored on my disk drive, highlight it, click 'open', etc). With almost 3,000 songs, I obviously don't want to have to repeat this process each time I want to listen to a different song.

So, how do I clue iTunes into the locations of the music? iTunes Help hasn't been any help.

I hope I've been clear enough. I'd sincerely appreciate any pointers.

You may have a corrupt preferences file or library. Here is a fix that may work.

If they are all in the same Folder, you can also click on the Add Folder to Library. Even if the music is in separate folders within one folder, it should work too.
