so far today I think I've seen people spell 'whine' or 'whining' as 'whinge' or 'whinging'
about 3 or 4 times . . .
now to rescue this thread from the pointless category

my question is this:
what spelling or grammatical errors grind your gears?
It's English, and it means the same thing.
This thread is full of "whinge" indeed. (If it was full of "wine" it would be a Drunkl Thread™.Plus, it rhymes with "win" not "wine".
here comes a spelling nazi complaint!

So "PWNED" has been pwned?Thankfully, the idiotic "PWNED" has started to go the way of the dinosaur.

Is that "defiantly" as in "being defiant"?defiantly instead of definitely
It's English, and it means the same thing.
It is actually "whinge" (as in "Red Bull gives you...").

Arguably American English could be considered a "grammatical error."[Note from my lawyers: this is a Joke™.]
It's English, and it means the same thing.
Exactly. It's not a spelling mistake, it's a separate word.
It's even in an American dictionary
The best bit about being a whinging Pom is whinging about being called a whinging Pom. The irony is not lost on us.Most Australians would use the word whinge more often that we use the word whine though the two words do not mean exactly the same. A child whines, a Pom whinges.
Whining is done with a high-pitched voice, whinging can be done with any sort of voice.
