... to buy stuff online. It should be banned or at least be incredibly difficult.

What purchase are you regretting?

Internet shopping is one of the best inventions ever as far as I'm concerned. The one thing I miss about moving away from the UK is that I can't use Tesco internet grocery ordering any more.

Agreed. I need some type of device or program that shouts "Read the books you already have before buying more, you twat!", followed by my credit card self-destructing. I am incapable of buying just one item from Amazon.:sigh:

The key for me is, fill up your cart all you want, but don't go to the checkout. That way, next time you actually try to check out, you'll be shocked by the total cost enough to consider how many of those things you really wanted.

I don't think there is anything wrong with having a lot of unread books on your shelves because it means that when you want to start a new book you have plenty of choice. I know that eventually I will get around to reading what I buy from Amazon/Book Depository.

Besides it is best to buy them now, while I can afford them. In a few years time might not be able to.

I do about 90% of my shopping online. I buy my groceries online, nearly all my books and DVDs, I order my photos and photo gifts online, buy my rubber ducks online etc.

I have a set weekly limit to spend on things and I rarely go over it. It helps that I only have a debit card not a credit card.

Using a debit card to make online purchases makes me nervous.

I only use it for purchases that I can't make using Paypal which means mostly only Amazon.com.

I keep a close eye on my bank accounts which being poor I don't have that much money in. I would pretty quickly notice withdrawals that were unaccounted for.

hell farkin' yeah!!

I always do all of my Christmas shopping online. I haven't had to set foot in a umm, retail establishment during November or December in over 10 years!

I just bought 10 grands worth of crude oil at a vastly reduced rate from a charming Nigerian man on the internet. It was much easier than I thought.

I do the same. I have a lot of stuff "saved for later," but I actually buy little and only a bit at a time. I do make an effort to have my order just large enough to get free shipping.

For those of us who can't drive, online ordering is a gift from heaven.

For those of us who live in Tasmania ordering online is a gift from heaven, I love my state but our small population means that many things are unavailable in shops.

No kidding! I have so many unread books, and I just keep buying more.

Huh. I thought I was the only one who did this.

*Buys more books*

This isn't normal?

*buys more books and the stuff for a book repair kit*
