It's hard to believe it's been 9 years already!

On this day in 2001 I signed up for the Trek BBS. A lot has changed since then.

When I first signed up I was living at my Mom's so that I could afford to go college, I was just finishing up my last semester, I was single, working part-time as a waiter and I was still in my 20s.

Flash forward to today and I've had a full time job since I graduated, I'm married, own a house and have a 5 week old baby girl and I'm just a year and a half shy of my 40th birthday. Makes me wonder how much different my life will be another 9 years!

Well, if you're worried that your 40th birthday will be painful, don't sweat it. You'll survive. I had my 40th on Saturday and I lived.

Of course, it helped that I've been a crotchety old man since I was 6.

You will almost half a century old, and in debt up to your eye balls! You will have at least 1 maybe more children to buy a car for and put through college.

You will have a bigger belly than you do now, and only see you penis in the mirror.

But, it's better than dying......
