IT Crowd picked up for 5th series

Good news everyone. IT Crowd has been picked up for a fifth series before the fourth has even aired.

From The Guardian

Channel 4's Bafta-winning sitcom The IT Crowd is to get a fifth series, its creator and director Graham Linehan announced last night.
Speaking at preview screening of the show's fourth season – which will be broadcast this summer – Linehan said that a fifth series had already been commissioned.
Linehan, who also wrote Father Ted with Arthur Mathews and Black Books with Dylan Moran, said that after four seasons of writing The IT Crowd alone, he intended to put together a team of writers to work on the fifth series.

It infuriates me that the BBC do not publish exact airdates further than two weeks out.

And why have I read it countless times as both "Lineham" and "Linehan"? Can the press please definitively settle on a surname for this man?

Huh, I didn't even know there was a 4th series coming, so this is doubly excellent news!

Yeah I always thought BBC was the only supplier in the UK, but someone corrected me here a little while ago :p

Well, for years all we knew about was "The BBC".

And our way is actually much easier because they're all numbers.

2,7,9,10 and SBS which is actually Ch 28.

I guess it's just that outside people kinda think of the BBC as a venerable English institution, like fish and chips, the Queen and toffy chaps with monocles saying "What-OH!"

Think of it as a compliment.

Well they're all numbers here too Channels 1-5 and then everything else is digital.
I just find it annoying when people blame the BBC for everything on British TV, they get enough shit here as it is without piling other channels problems on them as well.

I do think it's great that the BBC carry so much British TV and culture around the world, even when it's not their own shows though.

OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!!!

Very happy to hear about this. Can't wait for season four. Hopefully it's better than season three, which I felt took a nose dive in quality.

I'd also luv to see the US pilot at some stage. Maybe they'll release it on DVD as an extra, although Channel 4 probably don't have the rights to it???

EDIT: Ignore that, just found it on Youtube.

Bloody horrible...
