It seems like a logical enough design. That link you gave for the DY-100 was a very interesting read. I had no idea Jeffries was so attached to Douglas.
 
Good read, thanks for the link. The DY-100 has always been one of my fave 'Trek designs-- Jefferies really had a knack. I can easily see a "fleet" of these ships being the early "colony" ships for Earth and/or touring about the solar-system from planet to planet.

Anything else worth the 4 euros in this book? :)

I just had a look, the technical university of my city has it in its library, though it cannot be lent. Maybe you find it via your university?
