Isn't now impossible to even include Shatner?

As much as it would pain me in some other perfect world, we do NOT need Bill Shatner to represent for this project! Once again, one has to point out that this is NOT a prequel to anything we are vaguely familiar with.

As others have pointed out elsewhere, Leonard Nimoy's Spock is an iconic bit of "hard-coding" for this effort, but I suspect the Spock we see in this film will be decidely more refined and ultimately integral to passing the torch as it were.

We are already very familiar with the New Voyages cast crew and how they have grown into the legendary characters once played by our beloved 60s cast and crew.

Give this new set of people a chance. With this movie, Star Trek has firmly established itself as "legendary" iconography along side such greats as Flash Gordon, Batman, Superman....Popeye (Ha!). All played by a variety of actors and artists alike.

Let this go ladies and gentlemen, for God sakes...let it gooo!

History has proven that Shatner has been difficult to deal with both creatively and monetarily (if you get my drift).

Leave well enough alone. If Nimoy wants to make a cameo, fine, he's reasonable, but Shatner??? Who needs his nonsense.

N^^^ Nimoy's role is much more than a cameo, in fact he may have top billing and his role is rumored to be a major part of the film.

And? Last we heard of spock he was trying to bring re-unification on Romulas.Last we heard of Kirk, he was killed while trying to make a difference.I thought it was the right way for the character to go.The old captain Kirk is dead.And if I was a betting man, Nimoy will have at the most 15 minutes of screen time.
