Is this the new companion?

Sorry if this has been talked about or if this is false, but just wanted feedback from all.

Forget Catherine Zeta Jones, the BBC's signature time travelling series has finally found its companion: former "Bionic Woman" star Michelle Ryan.

At least that's what the latest reports are.

Starring alongside the youngest Doctor in the show's history, Ryan will provide the human element to the series and serve as the entry point for the "Doctor Who" audience. No official announcement has come from the BBC, however the tabloid newspaper claims that confirmation is imminent.

nice pic for those whom dont remember her.

I never watched Bionic Woman so i dont know if she is good actress or not, but is very hot though.

She was crippled by a yank accent.

You would not believe how much more attractive all the foreigners pretending to be yanks become once they stop playing pretend.

If you look at the thread for Planet Of The Dead you'll see that she is apparently appearing in that Special which (accusations of lies on behalf of both the current and upcoming Producers aside) rules her out as the full-time companion for Series 5.

Hmmm, wasn't she in Jekyll, also produced by the Moff? If so, she wasn't bad in that.

Was pretty ordinary in Bionic Woman, but it was a lame show, trying to be all BSG-moody.

She was ok in Jekyll...curvier than she became in Bionic Woman with red hair and very hot...her character kinda vanished from the show though and Gina Belman became the focus. She was cool in Merlin- not the greatest actress in the world but by no means awful.

No, the combination of the dress and her lousy posture in that photo make her boobs look ten years older than the rest of her. She deserves better. ;)

I love her. She's actually a really good actress, and hotter than... the sun. The big burny thing in the sky, not the fucking paper featuring bigotry and tits.

Not that it matters, for as we all know, no companion can be featured in a Doctor Who Special only to then come back and be a series lead...

Oh wait a sec.

Seriously though, you can't rule out anything when it comes to Science Fiction, and that tends to go double for Doctor Who.

Is it likely?

No.

Does that mean that it can't happen?

No.

What do we know now?

About the same as before... Nothing much.

I'd be quite happy seeing Michelle Ryan as Companion in one special if not a whole series. I've liked her in what little I've seen of her (Jekyll, Bionic Woman). And she's ten times hotter with her British accent, so being on DW would auger well. :)

Ugh, I hope that rumor isn't true. I can't stand Michelle Ryan and she was by far the weakest link in the otherwise excellent Jekyll. If she's just in one special, I can tolerate it, but not if she's the series 5 companion.
