Is this sick or weird?

It's not my cup of tea, but I don't see anything particularly weird about it, and actually think it's a nice idea. It's not like it's going to be physically any different from a regular tattoo dedicated to a deceased loved one, it just gives you a little extra connection in your mind.
I would not do it, but I wouldn't use the word "sick."
I've always thought that tattoos in general, without the ashes, are already sick and wierd. That would make this, by my standard, sick, wierd, and also demented. Nevertheless, if it makes folks happy, I'm not going to stand in their way. Heck, if they want to make their morning coffee with the ashes of their dear departed, I won't object to that either... but I won't be having coffee with them anytime soon.
Absolute top on the "weirdness scale" -right up there with having the ashes of people in your home.
That's very open-minded of you. I mean, tattooing has only been around at least six or seven thousand years, so I can see how it can be hard to get used to these weird new fads the kids are into. Clearly they must be sick people to engage in such behavior.
I don't think it's sick or weird. Maybe I'm sick or weird in thinking that! 
I'm surprised that so many people here are of that opinion. I like the idea of having a little bit of a loved one with you as you go through life. This, of course, would be if I were into tattoos, which I'm not.

Well, it's certainly not the weirdest thing people have ever done to their lost loved ones-- but that's not saying much. 
Honestly people keeping ashes in their home has always weirded me out, so the tattoo thing doesn't seem weirder than that. I can see the reason people might want to do it though. I haven't experiences the death of an immediate family member and I think something like that would probably change my perspective on the matter.

Back in the mid-eighties this guy apparently had some unresolved issues with his dad and didn't get to say goodbye to him... So he stole the corpse from the hospital, tied it up to his motorcycle and took the remains of his father for a ride into the blue...

I think they even made a TV-movie of it.
I don't think it is sick or weird at all. And honestly, i am pretty sure that if, god forbid i lost one of my children i'd have it done. I might have even done it when my dad died. Maybe that makes me sick or weird. Whatever.
I don't see anything wrong with that. It's not my bag, but if you're not hurting yourself or others, then have a great time and tell me about it later. I'm not arrogant enough to assume everyone has the same grieving process. If you need to do something, and as I said before if it doesn't cause serious harm to others then by all means.
Not sick but when I first read it I thought a little weird, perhaps but maybe that's because I'd never heard of it before.
