Is this episode a bit "problematic"?

So.. I'll just bring this up.
A few years earlier in 1986, Saturday Night Live ran a skit (Target: Earth) about two very stupid aliens that try to conquer the earth by mesmerizing humans with their high technology. But their technology consists of oil lamps, dirt roads, and muskets. Robert Downey Jr played one of the aliens, Leno played the other one)

In the end the Air Force realizes that the aliens are actually very dumb and just stole the spaceship. so they scare them away with a demonstration of modern weapons . the end.

I always felt it was this skit that at least partially inspired Samaritan Snare.

I find it funny they would do that.

"There can be no justice where laws are absolute."
that's what I said repeatedly to the state of NJ about the tolls they say I owe when passing through their lovely state out of New York. I don't think I can drive there right now.

Am I the only one that found this kind of shocking? - The Packleds? I do not have a problem with people presented as stupid. But they look and act like full on people with down syndrome in look and speech patterns. Nothing to insult.
They don't act like anyone I've met with down syndrome. I know a few people with down syndrome and they are all relatively eloquent/well-spoken. Not to mention they are some of the happiest, most creative people I've ever met! :klingon:

Well, yes but I felt they were actually making them into a stereotype but that's ok, as I seem to be one of two people who thinks this.

And possibly inspired 30 Rock. Or Boneheads.

This has not been my experience. Nor do I think the Pakleds are a good companion, and doesn't make the episode any better since they decide that fucking up LaForge is fun.

As for "Justice" and "Angel One", both are difficult to find good in them,
Angel One gets a lot better when you compare it to Profit and Lace. In one, it's shown that gender equality occurs by evolution, and evolution can be a slow, grinding process. In the other, Ishka waves her magic wand and POOF! Ferengi women go from basically livestock to apparent full equality. It's like saying that Susan B. Anthony should have just gone to Washington in 1866 and banged President Johnson. Wham bam, and women get the vote 54 years early.
