Is there enough Trek out there to teach me german?

Yevetha

Commodore
I am watching all my Trek in german and i wonder can i learn german the same way i learned english by just watching tv....

Toughts...

In our country, many people learned German from Star trek- before fall of the Iron Curtain, there was no Czech translation. Their dubbing is comprehensive (at least in case of TOS), but sometimes the dubbed lines means something different, than in original. Amok time has completely different story in German, cos it had to be suitable for children.

It might work. Much of my English came from watching Star Trek back in the day. I assume that if you watch through all of TNG or so, and possibly even the entire franchise, and you know beforehand what they're talking about because you're familiar with the stories, you will pick up quite a few things. Can't hurt to take a German class, too, though. You won't really be able to *speak* German just from listening to "Pille" complaining about the "vulkanische Spitzohr"...

I learned some in school

Probably i should do the same i did with english.

Learn from Tv and then take communication classes.

(well, last time I had to speak German, was three years ago)
