Vermont had Super Troopers, not exactly our finest moment. Wasn't Bob Newhart's show set in VT? That's before my time but I think it was.

Super Troopers wasn't exactly one of our state's crowning achievements. Didn't Newhart take place in VT? I was a little young for that but I think so.

And the Simpsons Springfield is apparently the one in VT as well. I actually have a meeting there later today.

It is on the other side of Snoqualmie Pass, it is therefore in Eastern Washington. At least that's the way we look at it here.

Indeed. The divide between eastern and western Washington isn't really a straight down the middle kind of thing. Most of the state is part of "Eastern Washington," but most of the population is part of "Western Washington," mostly the areas around the I-5 corridor including Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, Bellevue, Everett, and Bellingham. Assuming I know what I'm talking about, which is a big if, even if I was born and raised in Olympia from 0 to 18.

Got it in one. Grew up in Wenatchee on the east side and almost everyone I knew said "I'm going to the coast" when they went to visit Seattle. Truthfully I wasn't as indignant as I sounded, I just think it's kind of funny and hope people form outside the PNW don't get the idea Washington is JUST Seattle and rain. I'm sure large portions of other states (like Illinois that was mentioned) get ignored as well.

Coincidentally a few scenes from Surviving the Game (Rutger Hauer, Ice-T) were filmed in areas around Wenatchee valley and the alley behind the local movie theatre.

Actually, I discovered yesterday that Wikipedia doesn't have an article on the Chamfer Matching algorithm.

They would have to have incrediblely dull lives to want to vandalize a wiki entry on the Center Manifold Theorem...
