Back in the old days, Roddenberry and then Berman and company were running what had come to be known as the Star Trek Office, meaning that it was the central point through which many Trek related questions were answered. Licensing folk ran things through there, for instance, per previous statements from Paula Block.
In the new Trek era, CBS has a deal with Alex Kurtzman and his production company Secret Hideout to develop Star Trek. This suggests a slightly different arrangement, technically, than a direct hire relationship, and may imply other differences in the way things operate. Kurtzman is also working on other things, for instance, so his office . . . whether on CBS property or at his Secret Hideout . . . would be for more than just Trek.
So, is there a Star Trek office, now? Is it best to think of Kurtzman as the new Berman to whom van Citters of CBS Consumer Products asks questions of related to Trek generally, or is he better thought of like a licensee, or with he and CBSCP doing their own things?
I ask so as to try to argue the reverse of myself in another, now-closed thread, since nobody took this and ran with it. Thanks in advance.
