Is there a missing "voice over" when Anikan is looking doe eyed at Padme's House?

Guy Gardener

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
In Revenge of the Sith.

I don't know if this version of ROTS is "updated" or I just lost patience every other time I watched this piece of crap.

But it seems like he's having a telepathic conversation with Padme where he says something like "I love you so much that I am going to kill all our friends, every time I saw someone's face off, especially if it's a child, that just means I love you" and she hears him say that, which is why she is freaking out , and eventually dies of the glums.

Google was no help.

I haven't quite finished the movie and I have to tend to chores outside for a bit.

No, I don’t think so (if you’re talking about the scene that I think you’re talking about). I remember when it first came out, someone (probably here) talked about how the scene of them looking at out their windows on opposite sides of the city was a great example of Lucas having a good visual sense and direction of silent emotion, even though his ear for dialog was terrible. Something about how the best depiction of their connection was when the two actors were in separate rooms and not talking.

I just watched RotS for the first time in maybe 15 years last night and holy crap is the dialogue between Anakin and Padmé bad. Just wretched stuff.

There was. It was originally supposed to go, after Palpatine's line:

Padme: "I'm not afraid to die... I've been dying a little bit each day since you came back into my life. I truly, deeply love you... and before I die, I wanted you to know." (In other words, her confession of love from AOTC replayed)
Anakin: (tears up, speaks aloud) "I can't do this... I CAN'T LET HER DIEEEEEE!!!!" (runs out in rage and blind panic)

That definitely matches Anakin's behavior in the finished film. His original motivation for trusting Palpatine wasn't rage or a lust for power, but genuine love for his wife and a desperation to save her. The future Emperor played on this though, and warped the young Jedi's mind...so that by the time he fought Obi-Wan, there was no going back.
