Is the R2-D2 thing still going on?

I haven't heard much about the R2-D2 contest lately, wonder if it's still on? Or any news about where R2 actually is? I think he's on the hull of the Enterprise.

Someone will be certain to see it when the DVD comes out. I'm just waiting for that.

When I watched the movie the third time, I specifically tried to spot him. I think I saw him in the debris field above Vulcan, just before the Enterprise first spots the Narada.

Looking at the main Star Trek Facebook page and at the comments for the original contest announcement, it appears that no winner has been named yet.

No I didn't use the forum search feature because I check the forums every day, and I haven't seen anything about it since the last thread that someone posted. Sorry... I just haven't seen anything new about it and no one discussed it for a long time so I didn't know if anyone has made a claim on it yet.

It seems not. I think the original contest announcement said that a winner (if there was one) would be announced within 7 days after the contest stopped accepting new entries. It was closed on May 25, making it ten days, so they may just be running behind.

I also find this, in the Official Rules:

12. WINNERS LIST/OFFICIAL RULES: To obtain a copy of these Official Rules and/or the winners list, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to the “Star Trek Easter Egg Sweepstakes” Winners List, 5555 Melrose Ave., Hollywood, CA 90038. All such requests must be received no later than six (6) weeks after the end of the Promotion Period. Vermont residents may omit return postage. You may also view the rules by visiting www.facebook.com/StarTrek during the Promotion Period.

...so that gives another way to check.
