Is the Picard show the "last chance saloon" for anyone else?

So I would seriously not mind it if Trek died for awhile, at least to end this current trend of where it's going.

We had that, from 2005 onwards.

I can see the complaints about films - after-all trek is a TV format, none of the films have ever been comparable to something like Star Wars.

We went 13 years without Trek on TV, the same amount of time between TAS and TNG. I for one love having it back.

I'm not complaining about anything. I'm pretty casual when it comes to Trek; all I do know is Discovery is of zero interest to me because if I wanted to watch Star Wars, I'd watch that instead.

I was talking about some corners of the fandom in general (although the response was motivated by your post), but I still think that wishing for something to fail is not particularly nice. If you don't like it, don't watch it. Plenty of us do. I do get wanting something you can actually enjoy, even if I personally do not agree with your assessment.

As for everything else, I was just sort of venting. It wasn't really meant to be personal. I'm done hijacking the thread. :-)
