Is the Galaxy class overused in Fan Productions?

I just notice that a lot of fan film series, Hidden Frontier, etc... all seem to use the galaxy as the premiere hero ship. sure a few use the old constitution class, but Galaxies, in particular Galaxy-X ones seem to be everywhere.

Anyone else notice this or is it just me?
I get why, obviously it was the sequel series to TOS, there's the most reference material for the ship/crew/characters/technology compared to say, Voyager, and it's easily more recognizable out of all the 90s era trek ships, but still. Is it just a coincidence or am I on to something? :)

What other fan series, besides Hidden Frontier, are using the Galaxy class? Seems to me it’s far less ubiquitous than the Constitution class in fanfilms.

You know Intrepid? you're probably right. the only fan films i've ever seen using the galaxy/X were Hidden Frontier/Angeles. The rest has been graphic based fan fics, stuff on DA, etc...

Might have just been oddly coincidental that night when i was finding a whole bunch of 'em around the web.

I don’t honestly know the answer to that, I can’t keep up with all the new productions that keep cropping up. I’m genuinely curious as to what others there might be.

I can't think of any other examples I've seen using the Galaxy. The Connie, on the other hand, is in NV/P2, Exeter, Farragut, Continues, Potemkin, and probably others that I've forgotten.
