is the D'deridex descended from the D7/K't'inga?

really it should've been humans uniting the other 3 Federation races to stop the romulans and klingons. we didn't need the Xindi or suliban (even though I like Silik). and even then we didn't need the Klingons around all the time, just a few times

although would the romulans be as interesting without their cloaking technology?
 
Romulans in place of Xindi as puppet-masters manipulating Suliban to do their dirty work seems fine to me. I think had the technology been depicted as a bit more realistically different and otherwise primitive it would be plenty interesting.

I'd also put the Orions in place as a sort of pseudo-Ferengi of the era, just far more piratey and threatening.

Show the Klingons only a couple of times, possibly with the Augment arc being the "disastrous first contact."

Orions were basically the first Star Trek species to do the whole 'trick one species into fighting another'.

i also think they could've had more Tellarites earlier on
