Is Star Trek XI TOO awesome?

After the 21st Century awesome of LotR, Trek needed some 21st Century awesome of its own. This seems to be it.

To paraphrase two Aussie comedians (or parrot phrase, from that other great comedian, MadBaggins) - Star Trek: when too much awesome is not enough!

I think Sulu is now a ninja. A paratrooper ninja with an extending ninja sword, who fights a bald axe-carrying romulan. While holding his breath.

That's just far too AWESOME. Sulu should be growing plants in his room. Hand-puppet plants. I JUST CAN'T HANDLE IT!

A sombrero-ninja on the bridge?! Kirk must be a ninja in training then. This explains the black uniform. And why the armed redshirts are powerless to stop him from sitting in the captain's chair. I think my brain is melting.
