Is ST11 'dense' and value for money?

Cheapjack

Fleet Captain
This film looks a bit jam-packed. I mean, they're released three trailers, all seem to show a different aspect.

Is it all things to all men? Will it be worth £5.50 to see? Will it pored over for years, like the ones in the 80's?

I actually don't think this movie look very packed at all. The pacing and overall story arc will probably be pretty straight forward. Watchmen was an example of a jam packed movie.

It will cost me about 9 euros to see it.
I don't consider that such an important amount of money to cry over so it's not an issue.

In any case, I believe it will be worth every cent based on what I know so far. And if it doesn't, it will still be analyzed and discussed for years.

After all, that's what Star Trek fans do best. Analyze and nitpick to death every frame of everything regardless of if it's good like TMP or complete crap like TFF.

We've heard this before...where people look at the trailers and think that the movie must be 3 1/2 hours without time to breathe.
I'm sure it will fit into 2 hours nicely!

From the trailers it's hard to tell, but I'm willing to bet that it will be comfortably paced. The wife and I rarely go to the movie theater (I think the last time we went to see a movie was 3 years ago) but I think I'm going be gladly paying $19 for two tickets to go see this.

Which is why I did not see ''WATCHMEN'' it cant be done ''properly'' for under 3 hours:vulcan:

From the looks of it, this movie will be worth the money regardless of whether it's jam-packed or not. Heck, I would have paid the Tuesday movie price ($4.25) just to see the trailers alone!

RT.

Judging by the fact that you can do effects quite well on a PC at home, it looks like a lot of man hours has gone into these on the trailer. People will be watching again on DVD just to work out what ship was seen at what point. Quite clever, really.

All the nuances of philosophy and life in the future was mainly hinted at in the 80's movies. People spent months arguing over those. And lusting over the few ships shown.

I have to confess I never saw Insurrection. I saw Nemesis and hated it. OTOH, I've seen ST TMP, 2, 4, and 6 multiple times.

I think the major difference between the films I saw multiple times and the films I saw only once was the quality of the story. If this film has a good story, it will be worth its price many times over.
