Is sfdebris funny?

Flying Spaghetti Monster

Vice Admiral
Admiral
He reviews episodes and films of the franchise (That's Star Trek to you) on his youtube channel. His reviews are general pretty elaborate.

The firt video I watched was for VOY's pilot. When he started talking about Janeway's duck-walk, he had me, and his "The Cloud" review was pretty good as well.

Lately however, his reviews have been bland, and not as funy or even as clever or insightful as he thinks they are, and often he merely sums up episodes. He does seem to like the sound of his own voice.

But then, this weekend, he posted a review of "The Seige of AR-558" and I couldn't believe it: He was funny again., and his comments on the show were relevant again. He was on the right track when he started talking about Sisko and the Defiant for a bit.

Thoughts on this and other youtube reviews?

Yeah he's often pretty funny, but thats not why I watch his videos. The humour is there and its good, but its often just there to give a little variety to what is essentially just an opinion about an episode. Hes just a viewer with an opinion, after all.

Not that I dont like them, I think its great to hear another opinion about Star Trek, in fact when I was first getting into Trek about a year ago, it was fun listening to those reviews and getting to know something about the community.

I do agree that sometimes the humour seems a little bit pointless and not needed, like a lot of the stuff in the 'In the Pale Moonlight' review.

I love sfdebris! At best his reviews are insightfull and funny. His commissioned videos, however, tend to be a little less funny. The early Voyager reviews are the best.

I enjoy his videos and have a YouTube subscription to him.

I was slightly irked that only paying members to his videos are allowed to make suggestions that get taken.
