Is it wrong that I kind of want to Troll the timeline if I had a time machine?

I know we have all learned from years and years of tv and movies that the timeline must always be preserved but wouldn't be more fun if you could go back and do anything you wanted? I can think many things that would be fun:

1 I have always wanted drive through some old west type of town in some fancy sports car with the radio blasting as I play Loverboy's "Working for the Weekend" so all the cowboys and past folk can listen.

2 How about taking a fancy yacht to go rescue everyone off the Titanic and then park nearby and throw a "Sink the Titanic" party while everyone has fun and can also watch the ship sink from a distance.

3 I want to go replace Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr's guns with realistic looking water pistols and film the duel.

4 I want to dress up like a Klingon in try and convince people in the 1920'a I am a real alien.

5 I want to take some "Burger King" back with me and see what Julia Child thinks about the food?

As someone who may have actually experienced this, I don't appreciate it one bit.

Except for the part where I would probably do all of that and more. I suspect that the person who has been doing the things that have happened to me is probably ME from either the future or an alternate timeline.

How would you get the car and yacht back through time? How would you prevent the yacht from being damaged by the debris of the Titanic?

Well I figure I would have a smart nerd friend working with me to help carry this out and it would be up to him or her to figure out the logic of getting it done. My job would be to come up with the pranks. I have thought of some more:

1 Bribe a modern day ex-hippie to dress up in a fancy business suit and come back with me to tell 1968 version of him to get a haircut, get a job and vote for Nixon.

2 Show up at 2001 Oscars wearing Bjork's terrible swan dress to take a little heat off her and maybe even see if we could be in one of those "who wore it best" articles I think are in tv guide or EW.

^ Never seen that one. Although somehow I doubt that it sucked quite as much as WWW did.

I did hear that the I, Robot movie originally had nothing to do with the Asimov story and literally had the name slapped onto it at the last minute.

Kind of like the Starship Troopers movie. Which reminds me: Talk Paul Fucking Verhoeven out of doing it...

Oh hell, talk Verhoeven out of getting into movies in the first place. That's a start.

I fully approve of your list and once I get my neutron guns aligned and working I'm off to do that list.

I'd visit Tesla tell him not to rival Edison so much but steal all his ideas, and hand him a book with all Edison's inventions at a point before they became fierce rivals. Thus he gets lots of glory and Edison gets the ridicule. Win win.

I actually like it, for a big, dumb, fun movie. But I also recognize it really has nothing to do with the book. Now the sequels, however.....
